Salwa Collective is a social club for Muslim women in their 20s and 30s across South Africa, currently running in Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town, and Pretoria. We create spaces for women to connect, make friends, and build a sense of belonging through meaningful events and shared experiences, from picnics and creative workshops to walks and heartfelt conversations. At Salwa, we believe in the power of sisterhood, in creating spaces where Muslim women can show up as themselves, find joy, and form real connections that last long after the event ends.
"How do I join Salwa Collective?" is one of the main questions that we get asked. There are two ways to join our community - via our WhatsApp city groups or via our Insta channel.
Take a look at some of our favorite moments from past events and gatherings across South Africa.

I started Salwa in a season of my life where I felt deeply alone. I kept wishing for a space where Muslim women could show up as themselves, meet kind hearts, and feel held by community.
What began as a small idea in my heart has now grown into a sisterhood across four cities, built by women who show up with so much love, softness, and intention. Thank you for being part of this journey, for trusting Salwa, and for making every gathering feel like home. I pray this space brings you the friendships, comfort, and connection you've been looking for, Insha Allah.
